Any kind of hormone birth control therapy could be affected by the use of antibiotics. The shot, the pill, the patch, the ring... All are hormone based, and all can lose some of its effectiveness with the use of antibiotics, regardless of the dosage that your doctor prescribed.

While you are taking the antibiotics, you need to take other measures to prevent pregnancy, unless that is what you want. Talk to your doctor about how soon you can have unprotected sex again after your course of antibiotics to ensure that your birth control is working as close to 100% as possible. It seems unlikely that you would have to be careful after so much time, but only your doctor can tell you when it's safe.

Condoms suck when you're in a monogamous relationship, but they're effective, and it's better safe than sorry.

No,

The contraceptive injection is the only birth control which antibiotics, upset tummy or being sick does not affect as the hormone is injected straight into the muscle and absorbed by the body where as the oral contraceptive is absorbed through the digestional tract within the body.

I believe that antibiotics cancel out the effects of birth control. But, like the people before me have said, no contraception is 100% effective in the first place.

Yes. Antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of any hormonal contraception. Usually when the Doctor prescribes the antibiotics they will tell you to use extra protection.

It's possible, but in fairness the contraceptive injection isn't 100% baby-proof (no method is) so if in doubt use a condom. If you don't want to get pregnant be safe! Otherwise you could be very sorry!
