I have a toshiba satellite l10-333 laptop, and my warranty has just run out. everytime i plug my charger into the laptop, my laptop doesn't recognise that it is plugged into the mains, and the little battery sign in the corner is still showing. When ive looked closely, the wire in the charger has split. does anyone know if toshiba will fix this for me, or whether i have to buy a new one? and if so,where can i get one from? im a student and so need my laptop to have power!! please help!

If warranty is out, dont hold out much hope for free repair. You would be cheaper to buy a new charger than sending it back to Toshiba.

Ebay sells them all the time from around £12-£15 - just make sure you get the right one for your model. Plenty to bid on and maybe get very cheap, but watch out for postage charges - also almost certain to be some buy now, since your in a hurry.

Universal chargers are also brilliant, just make sure it comes with the fitting you need - they are not quite as 'universal' as some people think. If you use a universal, you must also be very careful to set the 'voltage' at the correct level for your pc - you will get this info on the back of your lappie or on your old charger.

There are universal chargers everywhere but buy the ones where the name of your computer is listed as one which is compatible. Better still bring your laptop with you when you buy it.

first go the store were you got your'e laptop and ask them...You might be surprised and get a new charger at no cost! I think your business w/ the store means more than than the warranty. esp. on a charger! the customer comes first!!!!!!!!

I think you might have to buy one.

Go to the LEADING computer shops for the charger. Go to the leading ones because there's a better possibility that they might have it.
Or go to eBay.
Or, just buy a new laptop

Toshiba MAY fix it for you IF it is still under warranty AND they agree that it is not due to bad handling by your good self.

There are hundreds of places selling AC adapters for your machine.
Here's just one option

to be honest, i think you would be better off buying a universal charger from somewhere like tesco or something, they are quite cheap and work with most laptops
hope this helps

http://www.ebuyer.com or http://www.dabs.com will probably sell chargers fairly cheaply, or just go on ebay - almost defintely be able to pick a cheap charger for the laptop on there.
