I had the same problem when i switched. So i searched all over and finally found something which was free, safe and best of all, really works. Its called the TCP optimiser. You can download it here
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php.
Download it,and just click optimise.I would strongly advise you to measure your speed before optimising and after optimising,so that you would know how much improvement you have got. There are links on this website where you will be able to do so.
Before you download this program,i would strongly advise you to clean your computer off all junk and also to clean ypur registry, just to be sure that this is not the reason why your computer is slow. You can do it here
http://safety.live.com/site/en-US.
Click on 'clean up' and then on 'tune up'.This website is owned by Microsoft and is free.
I am still using the TCP Optimiser and i can assure you that it works.I hope it helps you.Good luck.

Fast and Slow.. you got to mesure it with DU meter.. in this soft you could see how much Bandwidth you are getting per second...so get one.. .. I got the Du Meter version 3.07 build 200 .. usernames and serial ..
Name: EGOiST
S/N: D3-BEE-049C3E84-27395E50
.. after install it.. then you'll need to configure it a little..
always Clear you browser Cash.. by deleting offline files Cookis and temporary files.... for best browsing use OPERA.. browser to have it fster browsing.... with DSL you should get much more Bandwidth ... you should be sure if you are geeting what you are paying.. so get the DU meter first..

if it is not the internet going slow, its your computer. i would reccomend having the hard drive either cleaned up and have a de-frag ran on it, or clear the whole hard drive and reload all the software, this will make your computer run much faster and keep up with your internet

Download some free software to check for adware/spyware/virsuses. That will help alot. I reccomend AVG Anti-Virus, Adaware SE and SpyBot Search and Destroy. Just google those and it will take you to free download pages.

seems your memory is low and could be updated.
other option is to get a new pc with plenty of memory.
if memory is fine than it could be spyware perhaps, adaware is best bet to have and do scan.
