Yes Limewire is free. However, Limewire is the most current P2P program under scrutiny by the governments of several countries for copyright infringement. I would suggest choosing a different P2P program, it's a bad time to get into Limewire.
And all these people talking about getting viruses off of Limewire. It's not Limewire it's what you downloaded. You can get viruses from any P2P program you just don't use adequate protection.

make sure you only use it for mp3's as all the complaints about viruses are caused by kids downloading porn videos and exe.s !!

the basic limewire is free. to get premium, it costs, but all you need is basic

i got a serious amount of virus's of limewire, so make sure your well protected,
i changed to using bearshare

If it's anything like Kazaa, you will get tons of viruses!!! Nothing is totally free...

forget about it, virus alert!!!! you should try soulseek its the only one i use and its free never had any problems
