the body looks like a male but the fins look like a female, but i would say you have a female as males have longer flowing fins where females have shorter fins and can also display colour, they show more colour when they are ready 2 mate, just put fighting fish in2 a search engine and read up 4 some more info

The colours are like the male fighting fish but the fins are like the female. Yea it is female.

It's wise of you to suspect anything a fishshop employee says, but I think you got what you paid for this time.

Looks like the female bettas I have seen before. Looks like a nice one. They are not as pretty and shiny as well fed, nicely housed males can be, and tend to have much shorter fins, but this metallic blue with red under it is very typical for all females.

A guppy is smaller and is a livebearing fish. Bettas usually have flowing long fins and are aggressive in the direction of its own species and comparable looking fish. in case you place a betta with a guppy with long fins and tail, the betta will beat up the guppy.

Now selective breeding introduced colourful female bettas.And my female betta is much more colourful than the boy.

looks like a colourful female to me...males tend to have longer fins i think.

it does look like the shape of a female.....but then all the females i have seen have been a boring brownish colour. sorry im just as baffled as u r

female bettas have much smaller fins than males and are generally duller in color but there are exceptions to every rule. It doesnt matter anyways...they don't easily breed.

you can tell it's a girl because she has her razors and makeup removal pads close by.
