NO in truth hippies were a BBC propagand lie.
The reality is that if you watch the BBC now they pretend that in the 60's it was a hippy 'make love not war' type environment.
That is total left wing (which the BBC is) crap.
Most people left school at 14 and had to go to work to help the family budget.
The only people that could afford to be a hippy came form the rich who were the only one's could afford to go to unniversity.
Where we lived after the war my parents couldn't afford hardly anything.
The word unniversity was only a word which was worlds apart from reality.
And I know the noisy lefty save the whale groupies will disagree, but the truth is :
THE WORD HIPPY WAS FOR THE RICH !
