I agree.
President Roosevelt knew that Hilter had plans for world domination. If Hilter was not stopped in Europe, he was on his way to USA. FDR did not want to fight Hitler on our own soil if possible. FDR was trying to protect our way of life as best as he knew how.

The Axis was defeated by the Allies and the Allies included the USSR. No single country suffered the casualties that the USSR did (China was close but the Japanese were there for 12 years.)

In retrospect, both Churchill and Roosevelt should have been tougher with Stalin. I think ending the war was their main goal and they knew they would have a very difficult time without the Red Army.

Those people who think Roosevelt was a communist are insulting one of the greatest American presidents of all time, certainly, with Reagan, the best of the 20th Century. Like Reagan, Roosevelt was able to tap the American spirit and spur the country in a time of peril. Both deserve our gratitude and respect.

As for Molly, Roosevelt was Dutch and not Jewish. He was an Episcopalian.

He was correct .... BUT did he expect for people to forget where they came from? I call myself "American" (ashamed sometimes b/c of all the hate I see around me) but I will NEVER forget where I came from. Having experienced extreme poverty in my childhood taught me to be generous, humble and most of have an appreciation of what I have (which I worked for extremely hard). Some people don't understand thought that not everyone is the same. A lot of the people I see every day are people who don't expect everything to be handed to them. They assimilate to this culture, they learn English, take classes to at least get a GED, work 2 or 3 jobs --- BUT they are still not accepted here! What else would "America" like for them to do? Yes they did come here illegally ..... but they had no choice! Do you really think their government could be changed over night? What are they expected to do when their families depend on them to be able to feed them? I know that if there were no jobs here in America and my family depended on me to feed them, I would definitely leave --- even if it meant going into another country illegally.

Do you know that FDR had intelligence from Europe about the massacre of the Jewish people but he sat on his hands until Japan attacked.Isn't it funny that he was actually a Jew that is probably why he thought of money before people at the beginning of the war America was in a depression by the end of it you were the richest selling all those arms to whoever took them why do you think that is?What is that saying EVIL FLOURISHES WHILE GOOD MEN REMAIN SILENT.I have always thought the creation of Israel was FDR way of making up for ignoring the fact that his people were getting massacred..

I agree. The terms of surrender of the Nazis (Germany) Fascists (Italy) and Imperialists (Japan) were unconditional. To allow seperate negotiations in that situation would have subverted the whole agreement we had with our allies and allowed those in high places that were guilty or war crimes a way out through a 3rd party.
