first install tahe driver for that cable then connect it to phone

If u are running Windows XP then there should not be a problem but if you are running other versions then you have to first install drivers which is you can find in the CD which is supplied with USB cable or you can find the drivers on the net search withe the name of the cable

while purchasing a usb cable, a cd is also provided. the cd contains the driver files of the devices....so first u connect the usb cable to ur computer...just wait for the reply from the computer....a dialog box appears displaying "new hardware found". and then u have to install the drivers that the cd contains....if u dont have the cd just go to the google and search the drivers....

and the process u followed to install the softwares

what in my view u should follow is
* ist uninstall the software from your pc
* unplug your cable
* restart your pc
* use windows xp sp1 or sp2
* do not plug the cable before installing the software
* install the software of your phone (the cd which came with your phone)
* restart your computer
* now plug in your data cable
* computer will ask u the path for the new cable found
* let it search automatically
* after it your cable must accepted
*NOW ENJOY it

Plugging in just the cable, won't do anything, what kind of device do you connected to the USB cable?

Check the manufacturer's name, go to its website and download the latest driver for the stuff..
Even Windows XP have lots of hickups, we need specific driver to recognise and utilizes the hardware, especially if its a new peripherals.

You Can down load driver from internet by using www.google.com
give operating system name(win98,winx petc.) & device name
you can find driver on it load in to the pc
