First, you have to prove he is the best now to ask that question. I am sure he is very brilliant keeper, but I know several locals who would have been a legend should they have played in europe. I am not a crazy sport fan, so my comments are not for a player I love. But we had a kuwaiti goal keeper (Samer Saeid) who managed to play a full season conceding only 1 goal. He completed the game against the strongest team rival with a broken chin and arm, and still kept the clean sheet.
International, there was Walter Zenga to consider.
I cant judge who is better, but I can tell even if you dont know him, there are some brilliant skills and the most famous is not necessarily the best.

For now, the Mexican nationwide crew has 2 goalkeepers in Oswaldo Sanchez (eighty 3 caps) and Guillermo Ochoa (8 caps). at the instant, they are in Venezuela for the Copa América 2007. The U-20 international Cup 2007 at the instant in Canada has seen 2 of the optimum Mexican goalies in Alfonso Blanco, Rodolfo Cota and Alejandro Gallardo. To me, the Mexicans nevertheless have a protracted way earlier getting the likes of Peter Schmeichel and Peter Shilton on the helm. As of right this moment, the final ever goalkeeper to don the Mexican nationwide crew's jersey is non different than Jorge Campos with one hundred thirty appearances. Cheers :)

HAHA what a laugh. if you saw france vs italy for euro qualies you definitely know there are better keepers than him. He can hang on to anything and what happened? Henry blasted one in past him. He was in form during the world cup but was hardly tested, and i must say that was the worst penalty shootout performance i have seen. Did he guess the right way once? Lehmann guessed right on all of the argentine penalties. I believe kahn or schmeikel are/were the best ever. but who knows

Peter Schmeichel of Denmark is the best ever. I think he is now retired.
Buffon is quite good and has good performances now. A near clean-sheet in the World is quite something. however, I think the best of current times (after Schmeichel) is Oliver Khan. Has seen a slight dip in performance and his bad eye isn't helping matters but I feel that he is the one
