Like I was noticing for A7, there are a couple different ways to play it. How do you know which kind to play in a song?

they'll all sound about the same but the fingering of one might be easier with the other chords you are playing than another one.

Well, sometimes different version of the chord would sound better with other chords.

Take for example if you're playing a song with the chords F-Dm-Bb it would be better to play the barre chord version of Dm since F and Bb are both barre chords.

no rules with music, if you start thinking that way you'll find it all very frustrating
