How do you manage the results afterwards?

as a child of about 8 ,i was mad at something.my mom was trying to help me feel better by playing with me.i was made so i broke the toy she was trying to cheer me up with.i have always felt bad for that,so at 40 i told my mom i was sorry. she will be 81 this Dec.she didn't recall it at all.she said "that's all right",and gave me a hug.love you mom.
