"The Ghost AND the Darkness" (that was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, and my husband forces me to see alot!)
Lions are like that. Even if they are raised from the cub to be tame, they are never really tame. Their instinct is to hunt. Man's instinct is also to hunt. To hunt without weapons is foolish, but the Lions caught on, and turned on you when they figured out that you are bluffing.
The hunt symbolizes your progress through life. You are enjoying it, and it has given you great satisfaction, but you are afraid that it will soon come to an end, or that you don't deserve such an easy life. You know that there are others whose work you are gaining your daily bread from, and you find a source of guilt in that. You are afraid the higher ups will find out that you are nothing more than bluffing your way through work.

A lion may symbolize a test of strength, A person who has a large following, Leadership, Kingship, Authority, Power, Having the largest part, the biggest portion of something, the lion’s share.
The Lion could also symbolize someone in your life who is a Leo.
Dreams use symbols that are meaningful to YOU and only YOU. You need to determine what a lion means to you, and then you can better interprete this dream.
Being attacked by a lion may suggest feeling vulnerable or doubting your own strength, but you are the best source for interpreting the dream by looking at the symbols in the dream and what they mean to you personally.

I'm so glad you asked this question...
I happen to be a "Dream Lion" expert an I've been asked this question again and again throughout my career. There is nothing more important to know than the answer to this question and yet the average man on the street has little knowledge of it. In my years of research and in all of my published journal essays, I've tried to give the clearest explanation possible for the meaning of this (and other lessor) recurring dreams.
So... what does a recurring lion dream mean???
Not a gosh darn thing! These stupid dreams are all in your head.

Lions - you will be open to the successful attacks of enemies.
Let me put it as bluntly as possible:
You are going to do something very stupid. It'll be a challenge, but you will take it as a joke, an average thing, and you will be greatly unprepared for it.
Someone, or many people, are going to hurt you, and those around you. One by one, until someone takes action, and pulls up their socks and gets to work on it.
Be very careful what you let yourself into. And watch what people are doing and scheming. Good luck.

Wolves represent untamed instincts from the unconscious, which must be absorbed into the individual's day to day personality. This is done by living outside your comfort zone. Remember, life is about change and growth.
