My mom is for sure. She never gets angry but she has been steaming since the election! I am actually scared to call home.

I am ecstatic that the morally and politically degenerate Republicans have lost Capitol Hill instead. I hope they STAY out for at least 10 years. What the Bush supporters do not understand is how in a working republic our leadership is accountable to the American people. 40 percent or more voted in these midterms and a small minority of votes was just enough to send a message, and place restraints on Bush. This was about Mr. Bush and his failed war in Iraq.

Your disgust for the 256 Democrats who were victorious is interesting. Considering that 35 (6 and 29) beat their incumbant Republican opposition, what congressional evils are those people guilty of committing?
Whatever grudge you have against the results of the election, why don't you just relax? You've still got a couple of months to relish in one-party dictating and ingnoring, and demanding and earmarking. ---I'm sorry, that was hostile, (we all have those moments).
But please think about this: Every voter walked into a booth just like you did, and made their choices just like you did. You can argue tampering, fraud, influence or stupidity, but it is what it is.
I am so far to the left, I can almost touch Karl Rove's right arm. But I am frustrated with DC and the systems we've accepted. Every election I ask myself: are we really satisfied with any of it? Democrats have been PISSED OFF for 5 years. (minus a year surrounding 9/11) And Republicans are now?
Americans need to look at the legislative progress made in the 109th Congress: The agenda, issues, committee hearings, every bill, needed Republican Leadership approval to proceed. How can it be anyone else's fault but our own? In2004, every voter stepped into the booth and chose for themselves.
As detatched from the actual workings (the 109th broke the record for least time spent actually legislating) Americans are from our bicameral and federalist republic, how can any of us complain?
The balance of power is as meaningful now as its ever been, but I ask anyone who's read this far---Are we ever going to see that there are really supposed to be 4 branches of power? If not a branch, then every one of us form the trunk of our tree.
maybe more like the leaves on the branches- we grow up, live, provide the branches' food, then wilt and die. Feeding nutrients to the tree is all a leaf is for. Few of us decide to take more active roles, or really get to know details of the "governing work" of our governments. We pay taxes- providing the nutrients to the branches, and then wilt and die.

I sure am. Just think about it; x-demo rep Foley and his reprehensible and immoral behavior with young boys. And what about that major Democratic supporter Jack Abramoff - he got the Democrats to pass any legislation he wanted, just had to throw them a little money. Oh, and Democrat Duke Cunningham, he furnished his mansion with political bribe money. Don't forget about the sleaziest democrat of them all: Tom Delay - he could launder money better than a drug king-pin. Then there is Demo Bob Ney - when does his prison sentence start? Gee whiz, how could anyone vote for a Demo with all that corruption - not to mention the incompetence and the already huge increases in the size of Government and Gov't. spending in the Bu$h administraton.

Even if it was true that dems are morally and politically degenerate, I would still tell you to deal with it.
They didn't storm the capital and take it over. They were elected.

I think those adjectives can apply to any political party. As a libertarian, I'd be unhappy with either party, but for now I think the GOP has f cked up with the country long enough, so I'll see how the Dems do.

I'm not. We need muscle in the White House, but we need heart in Congress and the Senate. Republicans aren't known for having heart. They are guided by intelligence, rather than emotion. Republicans think. Democrats feel. That's not a bad thing, that's just the way it is, and I'm not saying this to be rude to either side. That's just my observation.
