Puerto Ricans come in a rainbow of colors even though they have mostly the same ancestry. I remember a friend of mine sat me down and explained the ancestry. He said Puerto Ricans have the blood of Spain (which will include Arab blood), the Taíno Indians, African blood, and sometimes a little European blood thrown in. All that lovely DNA makes many Puerto Ricans beautiful. They can look like Cameron Diaz (1/2 Cuban) and Frankie Muñiz (1/2 Puerto Rican) to Rita Moreno (Puerto Rican), Tito Puente (PR), Luis Guzmán (ok, HE's not beautiful) and Adam Rodriguez from CSI Miami (mostly PR, a little Cuban). All the DNA's in your blood...you may even have a child much darker than you. Hope this helps!

Actually, if you look up Puerto Rican history you'll find that the nationality today is made up of basically everyone who ever set foot on that island.

I've been told that a lot of fair skinned Puerto Ricans have Irish blood in them. The Irish, I do believe, used the island as some sort of cache.

It indicates that you are of predominately European ancestry, although you could have varying degrees of black or American native ancestry as well. Since the Spanish were the Europeans that controlled Puerto Rico for several hundred years, it is very probable that you are of mostly Spanish blood.

So. Let them believe what they want. When I was in middle school this one girl tried with all her might to convince me that Pirates were an ethnic race. I still don't believe her to this day, but whatever floats her boat.

Not necessarily. I'm Peruvian and I'm white skinned, but I know I'm European. There could possibly be some in you, but you would have to check up on your parents for that info.
