I'm 45 - and I haven't had a period since August 16, 2006. I've taken 3 pregnancy tests & all were negative. I've had 4 children. The only symptoms I had of being pregnant were missed periods & the doctor telling me I was pregnant. My last pregnancy was 18 years ago. Is it possible I'm menapausal? The test I took for menapause came back negative too. Any ideas of what this is? I will avoid the doctor ... never liked going & now that I'm older, I will give ANY excuse not to go.

So, any ideas on this?

it is possible not to have any symtoms besides not having your period, but you should go have a pap test for cancer, etc. anyway

Your one lucky momma or something may be wrong you say your test come back negitive so that is good. But i am only twenty three and have so many women problems by the time i am twenty five i will have to have a histerectomy But the menapause without side effects is really rare usually you have to be put on hormone pills.or have mood swings Good Luck though

Hi, you can start getting symptoms of menopause up to 20 years before your cycle stops. And it's not all hot flashes & mood swings. Cycle interruptions/changes are very common. My co-worker is your age & she gets her period twice a month for a few months, then it disappears for a few months & then it's back. It's been going on for almost 2 years & it's driving her crazy. My aunt is 55 & she's had her period -no joking- EVERY DAY for a year! Her doctor says she's healthy & it's completely normal! Apparently every woman experiences menopause a little different. My Mom gets hot flashes that you can feel if your sitting next to her so I'm praying to the Gods of menopause for mercy. It sounds to me that your healthy & all things considered - very fortunate.

if you are a man, you should not have any symptoms. Sorry, could not resist.

I know several women who are menopausal in their mid-40s and hormone level tests be damned, they show all the signs.
