I was going through some of the other answers submitted earlier and found them to be fairly rib tickling. Hats off to those ladies / gentlemen for their great sense of (black) humour.
As BCCI is under contractual obligation to retain Chappell till World Cup 2007, he can not be removed prior to that. Though his removal would be in order for the sake of better performance. BCCI can at least put his acts under a scanner and not let him have free rein. Some of his recent decisions not only appeared inexplicable to many but plain stupid and devoid of any cricketing sense.
Players who can both bat and bowl reasonably well should be given a chance, though not at the expense of successful specialists. Australia has shown the invaluable contribution of such players in the side.
Fielding has improved, but is still nowhere near world standards. More and more players are finding themselves on the injury list. Wonder, what our imported fielding and fitness specialists are doing out there!
A bowling coach is most urgently required for plugging the gaping holes in the Indian team. Pathan spearheads the side's bowling attack. He or any other strike bowler must not be burdened with the additional responsibility of batting at number three, except in exceptional circumstances.
Sachin has been a consistent non performer in recent times. If he fails in the West Indies and the other fixtures scheduled before the World Cup, it would be sensible to drop him from the World Cup bound squad, however audacious the idea might appear. BCCI can hardly be expected to be that bold, though.
The side is full of new comers and youngsters, who arrived to constitute the next gen team. Sadly, many of them have not performed upto expectations. The objective right now is winning the cup and not experimenting with a view to building the future team. Tried and tested veterans should be included in place of non performing youngsters. The never-say-die Laxman boasts of a good domestic performance. And the doughty Ganguly, India's most successful skipper ever and one of the side's most prolific scorers in the past, is showing signs of a turn around and return to form, with a well scored century in the Duleep Trophy. BCCI should seriously think of including them in order to enrich the team with such highly experienced performing campaigners. Of course Chappell and Dravid will have to swallow their pride for that.

The options are following :
1) Indian Coach : Go back to Australia and coach South Australia.
2) BCCI Selectors : Bring back Sourav Ganguly and assure success in World Cup and other matches.

They have to change the players who do not perform to their potential in the South African Tour and give opportunities to other talented players in the matches against Sri Lanka and West Indies. After seeing the performance of the players in these 3 tournaments, select the players who have performed well consistently for the World Cup.

Sacking the instructor or Captain won't resolve the difficulty of undesirable overall performance of the Indian team. the only answer i will think of of is to link the fee of gamers to their overall performance thereby forcing them to come again out of convenience zone and attempt not undemanding to accomplish extra valuable.
