Early civilization in Egypt was great in agriculture. They had great ingenuity for the irrigation process from the overflow of the Nile, that is something we should have been doing here when the floods of our rivers became a problem and we would not have the drought. But then who farms anymore. But the Egyptians grew so much grain, and had brilliant forms of storage for 100,000 thousands of people that they built a great Empire in trade with the Mesopotamians, and the Romans. The Egptian also crushed the reeds and made papyrus the paper they used back then for all writing. The flowers they grew such as the blue lotus was a medicinal plant, the aloe plants were used as a fruit juice as it is today, and for mummification as well. Their cotton growth was enormous and made beautiful clothing they traded their cotton for silks with Persia. After Alexander it became an extreme power in commerce, then of course the Roman Empire found Egypt to be very fruitful, for corn, cotton, fruits of all different types, medicines, oils and even paint, the paint was made from flowers and plants, of which was made for writing and for facial makeup, that men and women used.
