Partly true ...but friends may not have all the answer to your questions/ or they might water it down and not tell you completely what you need to hear. As with coming here you get multiple view points and don't have to worry about people biting their tongue or sugar coating the true.... they give you the truth in it's 100% purest form.

NO, because you can make a friend but some of the questions being asked are things you may not want to ask a friend. I'm not pathetic and neither are you. Shoot is you make a friend they probably love the Internet, my-space, and all of that to. Come on this the new millennium you can find friends if you wanted to on the INTERNET!

Pathetic is the fact that people are asking questions without first googleing up these issues. 90 of the questions here have an answer which Google can find ;)

No... Pathetic... not pathetic... in a circle of your close friends... do you really want to ask them a question... get their advice... and then have them ridicule you for not listening to them... That happens much to frequently... on Yahoo! Answers... you can ask a question... get a broader range of advice and tips... and you don't have to worry about the ridicule of those closest to you nor do you bring them into something that they really may not be interested in (Not everyone likes to be put into the middle of another persons problems)...
On here... no one is put in the middle...and if you don't like their advice... you simply ignore it...

Not really. Is it worse than going to a bar and trying to have a good conversation with someone who refuses to be friendly? This allows us to be creative and expressive, at times intelligent, at times just plain funny. "There once was a man from Nantucket, whose............."
