does honda put different engines in its vehicles?

specifically from the honda accord and the honda prelude? do they both have the same engine? which one is better?

They are different, dependent on the product line and trim level.

no they are different. and it depends on which trim of each vehicle you are looking at. all preludes (at least post '92) are in-line 4 cylinder engines, but are not the same engines, the most powerful one producing 190bhp. whereas the honda accord has in-line 4 cylinder engines as well as v-6 engines. the accord also the luxury of being a continued model, you cant get a new prelude (discontinued in '96?).

92-96 preludes had 3 engines available
s trim same as a 94-97 accord dx (good engine low power) f22
si trim has the h23 non vtech DOHC
si-vtech has the h22 vtech DOHC

90-97 accords had 3 engines
dx/lx 90-97 and 90-93 ex has 4cylinder f22
94-97 ex has 4cylinder f23 vtech
95-97 ex has v6

97-01 prelude has 1 engine
h22 vtech

98-02 accord 3 engines
f23 vtech
f23 vtech low emission
v6 engine

I like the prelude DOHC h22 VTECH

Depends on what year accord and prelude you are talking about. I think the prelude might have higher torque, but the accord might have a little higher hp.

i think preludes were discontinued in 2000. my sister just got rid of a 99 prelude. oh, what a piece that was. i do know her engine was a v-tech dohc, which i don't think they put those in accords.

They have both different engine configuration. Also depend on each class. Each may have sports edition and that will mean bigger engine. For me, both are good but you have to ask yourself what type of car is good for me. Then decide which you prefer. Good luck.
