There are probably as many explanations as there are people doing it, basically, for them it is emotionally or sexually fulfilling.

For me, it's about stress relief. I have a stressful job and to be able to hand across all the decision making to someone else - every decision - even for a short time keeps me sane. Plus - it is very exciting!!! As one respondent says, there is something very hot about being made to wear a dog collar by that special lady.

Because it's hot! It's a turn on for some... usually, it's one or the other, and by this I mean it's usually bondage+discipline OR sadomasochism. *shrugs* I like both... hehe. Because different people like different things. It's just like asking why certain people like racing even though it's dangerous. They just do. Most people have their reasons for doing what they do, but the main point is that everyone is different and enjoys different things.

We all have our vices/passions. For some people running all day long gives them pleasure for others S n M/Bondage gives them pleasure. Its all bout personal taste. Imagine life if none of these things ever happened... it would be as boring as hell. Life is all about choices.
