Granite requires special water jet saws, exact measurements and lots of experience. This is not a skill that can be learned in a month or a year on ones own accord. The equipment is expensive, very dangerous and extremely messy. It is worse than cutting fiberglass, if you have ever experienced that. Find contractor or specialty shop that does the kind of stone you like and show them a design you like or sit down with someone and talk it over.
I would recommend not undertaking cutting granite by yourself or as a buddy project.
Hope it turns out well!

You can use a dry-cut segmented diamond blade for cutting granite. Always wear dust and hearing protection when cutting granite. Can also rent a wet saw.
Remember to measure twice and cut once.

This is something that, if your asking, you can't do it. This is a job that requires special saws, time and labor and the biggest thing of all, experience. Hire someone to do it for you.
