Lenovo. IBM's quality is far better.

Dell, Sony, IBM/Lenovo and Apple. Apple is about $1099.

next tier would be HP/Compaq, Toshiba, Gateway and Acer

I bought a dell 600m and love it. I love it. I bought it at dell.com. I even got a color printer/fax and the total was just at $1000.00.

You can also look on ebay for new systems and for less than $1000.00 too.
