Arkansas

If you're looking for the best one loss team with the most talent it would be USC hands down. If you looking for the best one loss team that plays very well as a team overall I would have to say Wisconsin. They are very balanced on both sides of the ball and make very few mistakes. The thing that is hurting them is the fact they really haven't played anyone this season.

Another team is Florida but Florida will take another loss before season's end.

Lastly Arkansas is a team that is on a hot streak right now. If not for playing very poorly against USC they would be in the National Championship conversation. Houston Nutt has them playing very good football right now.

Florida but I think USC is coming on. If USC wins out, they would be the best one loss team with wins over Arkansas, Nebraska, UCLA, Cal, and Oregon. Florida plays in the toughest conference though. Arkansas is playing great football right now. Sadly, I think the best SEC team right now is LSU, but with two losses, they are done already. Teams with one loss who still aren't that good- Notre Dame and West Virginia. They haven't beaten any top 20 teams and have no defense at all.

According to the rankings it is Florida, but if USC were to run the table their is no doubt USC will jump Florida in the BCS and play the Ohio St./Michigan winner in the title game. The championship game is in the hands of USC. If USC beats Cal and ND, consider them a lock. That being said, I think USC is the best one loss team.

USC. Florida really isn't impressing me..
Rutgers is a little over their heads. Every other
one loss team isn't impressive either..
I mean look at their schedules.. they might
as well play against their local high school teams.
Especially Notre Dame.. if the Coast Guard
were in this division, I bet they'd be on ND's schedule.

Notre Dame and here is why. USC lost to an unranked team, and has had very close games to not very good teams most this year long. Florida lost to Auburn, who lost to two unranked teams and who are/were very overrated. Arkansas, they are very close to ND in this matter, but besides their win over Tenn. this week they haven't beat anyways, now yeah, they beak Auburn when they were #2, but I already discussed them. Their loss came from USC. Notre Dame's only loss to the now #2 team who we can all agree was very under rated at the beginning of the year. Now yeah, they haven't really beat anyone amazing, but, every team that plays ND, for the most part, considers it the biggest game of the year, they always have targets on their jerseys. They have proven themselves to be a good team who never gives up (see Mich. St. game and UCLA)

It's close between Florida and USC but I'll give the edge to Florida. But you can't overlook Arkansas they are playing really good ball right now.

I think college football is too subjective to tell which team is better.
