Hydrogen peroxide is known to kill bacteria as well as fungus, etc. My question is - is it effective?

I mixed probably a 1:8 ratio of hydrogen peroxide in my nasal rinse and it felt like a fireball from hell was in my sinus cavity. I don't particularly want to do it again unless I know there's some kind of benefit to it. I'm taking antibiotics since this is my 2nd sinus infection in less than a month.. I didn't take the antibiotics the first round because I wanted to beat it myself.. bad idea.

Hydrogen peroxide oxidizes your mucous membranes, dries them out and may cause bleeding without any long term results. A better method is to use a saline rinse, but the best course is to take the antibiotic. I would advise against the peroxide as being too harsh, destructive and without any potential gain.

Ive been using Sinusalia by Boiron and Xlear nasal Spray they are both homeopathic remedies. They work wonderfully take it from someone who had to have surgery to get her sinuses cleaned out. Pretty soon the antibiotics won't work at all i know that from experience but if you feel you have to take them make sure you are take acidophilus pearls. This is so very important as antibiotics kill all the friendly bacteria in your body!! Trust i was sick for 4 years and have done all the research. You can get all of these things at eVitaminStore on the web. if you would like more answers from someone who has gone thru the pain and done the research my name is Kaci and my email is kacibk@centurytel.net. As far as the Hydrogen Peroxide I know how to mix it to drink to kill infection but i have never heard of using it as nasal spray.
