Just for the record, IUD's rock. Best birth control ever. A routine trip to the OBGYN and they can trim the little strings back a little. Not too much because you are supposed to be able to check for them once a month. If you can't, try positions that don't penetrate as deep.

Obviously pain during sex for either or both partner is not an ideal situation.
Talk with your doctor and validate what the cause of the pain is....assuming you haven't already.
If it is the IUD, I would think that you and your husband can come to and agreement on and alternative method of BC.

I had that problem and the "fishing wire" that he was hitting eventually softened and he never complained about it again. I don't remember how long it took, but only a couple of times. Then we really loved the iud for the convenience. You can't beat it.
Maybe he could try wearing a condom for the next couple of times until it softens enough?

It should not hurt your husband. An IUD is supposed to be inside your uterus. Something is wrong. Go see your doctor.

How could an IUD possibly hurt your husband?? He should be nowhere near it. I think you need to see your doctor to have you IUD looked at.

Your husband should not be able to feel it, an IUD is placed in your uterus. GO to the dr. and have your IUD checked.

It should not hurt your husband. He should not even be feeling it. You need to see your doctor. It may have slipped, which could also mean that it is not going to work. There is no reason why he should feel anything, not even his size would matter.
Good Luck!

Since they can cause problems for women I would remove it and get a Nouva Ring.
