Each person has one liver. But, the liver can regenerate itself! So, if you need to have part of it removed, the rest can grow back. If you need a new liver, and cannot wait for a cadaver donor liver, you can actually receive a part of someone's else's liver (you gotta find that person yourself -as in they elect to donate to you). Very cool stuff.
