The 35 centuries will be definitely be overtaken within a year. The most likely to do that would be Ricky Ponting - younger than Tendulkar and already has 31 tons to his credit. Tendulkar, unfortunately isn't scoring test centuries as frequently as before. He has scored just 4 centuries in the past 4 years (One against Bangladesh). In the same period, Ponting has scored 17 centuries. I have a feeling that even Lara (32 test centuries) would go past Tendulkar.
Coming to ODIs, Tendulkar has almost double the number than his closest rival (40 vs. 22 centuries). I don't see any current player (Including young talents like Tharanga) to reach close to 45 centuries (Possibly where Tendulkar would end up).
But then, records are meant to be broken. With more matches coming up against minnows, somebody will eventually get to that ODI record. My guess is it will be an hugely talented opener from a subcontinent team - they play more ODI matches in easier batting conditions. I think the ODI record will be intact for at least the next 10 years.

Well in ODIs, there is no current player who is nearing his record. And if there is someone to achieve it, he will start his career at the age of, around, 16. In Tests, everyone is saying that Lara and Ponting might cross him. I feel that Brian Lara has got no chance at all. Because he is in the same kind of form as is in Tendulkar. I hope that all the records will remain in his bag. Eventhough Ponting is in staggering form but, I´m still determined to my words: Ponting will never cross Tendulkar. Even if he does, he won´t be rated in the same celibre of Tendulkar. He is the greatest player in history of Cricket. He is the only batsman who maintained his form in Tests and in ODIs too. I wish him all the best. My prayers are with him. I hope that nobody crosses him. And I even think that we might not get to see such a player in next centuries of years.
All the best, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar! - The Littile Maestro, The Littile Master and The Bombay Bomber.
Rawal.

It's not 35 Test 100's,and 40 in ODI's,He's gonna play for a long time, and if Ricky "The Prat Ponting",and "Inzi", want to beat Tendulkars record their going to have to get at least 50 odd 100's in Tests, and at least 55 100's in ODI'S,GOOD LUCK TO THEM,!!!! HA HA HAA.!!!!

Records are meant to be broken.....they will..i think...but not in the near future...
However, Ponting is very close to Tendulkar's test record and if he continues lyk this he might break it....his odi record is way too good!...that maybe broken years later...

i could heavily doubt it. cook dinner has amazing figures particular, eighty one assessments, 6477 runs and 20 centuries yet once you inspect Tendulkars figures on a similar element in his profession: Tendulkar 12 March 2001 (he grew to become into additionally 27 like cook dinner), eighty one assessments, 6577 runs and 24 centuries So Tendulkar is definitely forward in the two runs and centuries after a similar form of assessments. upload this to the undeniable fact that Tendulkar began whilst he grew to become into sixteen at a similar time as cook dinner began whilst he grew to become into 21 and Tendulkar has 5 years on cook dinner. whether he retains scoring on a similar value i don't think of he would be waiting to get to Tendulkars tally. i think of he's probably to double what he has now by ability of the tip of his profession which might positioned him at around 13,000 runs and approximately 40 centuries. such as the profession of Ponting and Kallis, however the issue that works in Tendulkar's favour is his toughness. the different situation working against cook dinner is the undeniable fact that he's an opener and has to shelter the hot ball while tendulkar bats down the order at 4 so has the luxurious of coming in whilst the ball is previous and the bowlers are beginning off to tire.

my friend , to me nobody can beat sachins record of 100's both in test which is 35 and in odi 40. som people think pointing can out run tendulkar in test hundrend's but i dont think so simply bcz both are in good form and are going to represent their team for same period of time from now.

Sachin's test centuries will be most probably surpassed but his ODI count is extremely difficult to beat and it will be nearly impossible to have scored so many centuries in both the formats of the game. I agree with you my friend.

I strongly feel that Tendulkr will score some more centuries before he retires and it may not be possible for any one to bet
these records in the years to come.
