Basketball is cool, but I think number #1 sport in this country is football. It's hard not to love America :-)

Football is but in a way NBA players are bigger celebrities and one reason is the fact that they don't wear a hat or mask so you always see their face. Not only that but basketball players wear sneakers that regular people can wear as opposed to other sports which means money for Nike, Reebok, etc. and catapults NBA players into household names. And basketball is probably one of the easiest sports to practice and play by yourself or with one other person.
