Dice Rolls?

Three fair standard six faced dice of different colors are rolled.IN how many ways can the dice be rolled such that the sum of the numbers rolled is 10?

No one throws 3 dice, try this in Vegas just one time.

I think 16 ways.

If you have three dice, you know that the total has to be less than ten, so:

1+1+1=3
1+1+6=8
So you know that you can't have two dice with 1's on them.

1+3+6=10
1+4+5=10
1+5+4=10 (because 5 is now on dice 2)
1+6+3=10
2+2+6=10
2+3+5=10
2+4+4=10
2+5+3=10
2+6+2=10
