Hi, Have you thought about doing something from your home like babysitting, taking in ironing, typing resumes or college term papers? There are lots of things that can be done at home. That way you do not have to be away from your little one. I hope something works out for you so you don't' have to leave your baby. I took in babysitting and it was sad to see so many cute things that the babies and children did that their parents missed. I also did not miss any of my baby's firsts. Enjoy your little one. Time goes so quickly.

If u don't HAVE to work then the best thing would be to stay home with ur little one. But the reality is many of us need the money to pay bills especially if u are a single parent. So, if that is the case try ur best to have a family member watch ur child, if possible ( u dont want ur baby sick from all the other day care children's germs). But keep in mind before u make that decision that it is very hard and tiring. I am a working mother and I wish that I wasnt in such a rush to get back to work b/c I am drained. So just think about it before u rush into it

If you can afford not to work then don't. If you need the money then find someone to watch the child or put the child in daycare. Some states have programs that supplement childcare for low income families if money is a problem. Its hard adjusting to working again when your child is so young, but many people do it some after only 6 weeks. Childcare is something that should be considered when you plan to get pregnant, and if you didn't plan it you still shouldn't wait until you need money to try to figure out what you're going to do as it takes time to find quality childcare.

You could look in some of the baby mag's like parenting, they have ad's in the back, where you can make things, or file mail. and get paid from home. Cant you find a job from home? Or try day-care with a few kids, not many? Its very helpful to stay home with young babys as long as you can.

I always figured that daycare amounted to me working for enough money so I could afford to pay someone to raise my babies, so I stayed home till they were in school. Like another answer said, they won't be babies for long, but they will also survive if you have to work. If you have to work, then just find a trusted person for daycare and dive into it. You will find that it is do-able and lots of people do it.
Good luck. I know it is difficult.

I hope you don't have to. My husband and I made the choice to stay home. I couldn't imagine having to work. Stay home if you can. There is plenty of time to work, your baby is only a baby once.

If it's a question of being able to PROVIDE for your child, then you do like so many other moms out there, you find a job, and a babysitter. If you can afford not to work, then more power to you, stay home and enjoy your new bundle of joy!
