HELP! I'D LOVE TO HEAR MY NEW IPOD NANO, BUT THE SOFTWARE NO WORKY! WHY DO I KEEP GETTING A WINDOWS ERROR MESSAGE, ITUNES HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE? HEL!p!!!!!

I had that too, and the only way I could clear it up was to use Norton Utilities to clean out the Windows Registry. I had denied iTunes use of the internet during the installation, so it uninstalled itself when it discovered that. After that, I got the same message and I couldn't re-install until I cleaned up the Registry.
If you don't have a Registry clean-up tool, you might try uninstalling iTunes using the Control Panel, powering off, rebooting, then connect to the internet and then finally re-install iTunes.
You might take a look at the Apple pages regarding the error messages, too, if my suggestions don't help...
