I have 4 midterms next week! How is it that I can remember the names of celebrities' kids, but not the biology I've been studying for hours and hours, week after week? I would gladly give up the 50+ drinks I know how to make (I was a bartender) for all the body systems of a fetal pig.

lol, i know exactly what you mean. it helps for me when i make cram cards and quiz cards, so you can get your friends to quiz you on all your topics. also, write (detailed but succinct) summaries on each chapter/topic and see if you can remember like one sentence from the summary you wrote which will "open up" the rest of the topic for you....if that makes sense, also, if you're really good at remembering celebrities names and stuff like that try relating them to the vocab u need for your exams. although...that's kinda hard. well..hope this helps~:)

my dear friend

you have his major disease DAY DREAMING so the best cure for it would be take break when you feel the dumb thoughts come to you..

* start studying you portion during mornings when your fresh and your brain is awake after a long rest..
* start with the easiest subject and always time yourself while you study each section of the chapter..then roughly recollect what you have learnt if your poor recollecting then just jot down the important point near the paragraph..
* remember to go through you diagrams and procedure thoroughly before you get in for practical classes..
* keep a remainder notebook for your science subjects and maths only to punctually enter the theories, formulas and phenomenons before end of each day.this will be your asset till you leave school..keep it safe and revise through it everyday so that you know where what is needed
* study everyday atleast 2 hours to refresh yourself again and again and help your brain register the subject..how did you learn to speak wit your parents? it is because you kept speakign words on and on and then it became sentences and you ended up on communication..
* make a promise with your heart that you would complete a certain section of the subject everday due for midterm..by midterm you would have completed the portion a nd revision would be enough for you to attend the exams

* spend an hour for all the subjects."only an hour" just to recollect all that was taught to you till the part discussed in class.this way you will not be lost and do this truthfully without letting your thoughts sway so only 1 hour will be sufficient!

TIPS
* never tense your self..if your tensed your brain will refuse to take anything..sincere prayers will help you relax..
* you can always do the best my friend you just need that little determination to shoo of the dumb thoughts and store the information you study..

you can do it ,believe yourself...

good luck

Fancyname's right, it is humanly impossible to fill your brain but since you have focused on other things so much it is hard to get a synopsis for something you have only seen for a short time. I would recommend you use some learning technique such as association to link the things you know to the things you don't that way you are just adding on to a synopsis instead of trying to create a whole new one.

There is no such thing as full brain. You need to make the knowledge you are gaining useful to yourself. You remembered the drinks because you used that every day. Put the biology into practical terms for yourself , study every day and your brain will accept it.

Spend more time studying than you do reading magazines in the bathroom
