A high School teacher shared with the class that Gandhi actually protested the manner in which wheat was harvested. Gandhi allegedly claimed that the way farm workers swung sickles at the stalks inspired violence. I cannot find out the source for this information and my teacher has moved away with no contact information. It is important that this question be answered as it would drastically change my opinion of Gandhi if this is true. Thanks for all help.

Who the heck

Do you know what a logical fallacy is? The fact alone that he inspired others does not by any means prove he is not insane.

I want information regarding only whether or not he protested harvesting of plants. Thank you. By the way I am not attacking him or his views. I am trying to get to the bottom of some confusion.

Gandhi was one of the greatest men who ever lived and he worked for many causes, but there's not much wheat in India, unlike the American Midwest, and I think your so called teacher was wrong.

He was against violence, and so am I, and he was usually a vegetarian, wheat is a grain ...so what stupidity is your teacher putting out

I totally disagree with your so called teacher ... he just doesn't believe that anyone could be so good cause he's not.

Whatever he said was taken out of context and misunderstood.

Gandhi, with the help of the phiolosophy of Henry David Thoreau,
fought and won a war without violence or killing.

Forget your teacher remember Gandhi.

Yours truly,
Jonnie
PS For your other answerer he was also called Mahatma Gandhi

Since I found your statement very intriguing, I ran a number of Searches using a permutation of combinations and came up with no matches.

I think this is BS.

All the references that I could find showed Mahatma Gandhi, if that's the person we are talking about, to be an admirable man.

The statement does not sound like it could be said by the same man, I'm sorry.

Thank you, all the same for letting me find out about this man, though.

how could he be insane when a lot of present-day leaders are inspired by him? just look at Nelson Mandela and Evo Morales.
