You would have to first learn whether or not your motherboard supports the faster RAM. http://www.crucial.com has a great tool to help you figure it out.

You cannot. Putting faster memory in an old computer doesn't help, because the memory runs at the speed based on the motherboard.
Unless the motherboard supports pc3200, it will run the pc3200 at pc2100 speeds.

Put it simply - No. The timing and data structure for PC2100 and PC3200 are much different, the motherboard will not even recognize it, non the less you could fry the board.

Some new motherboards supports both og them (Otherwise, indeed it will work as a slower memory anyway)
PC2100=PC266MHz
PC3200=PC400MHz
Also, you need to know whats your processor frequency
Usually, if the processor bus is slower than the memory one, its almost useless put faster memory
Anyway, is probabily harder to find 2100 memory these days, and their price will be the same as 3200...
So yeah, you can buy it, the worst thing that can happen is it work as a 2100
But remember the most important thing: The amount of RAM is much more significative than its speed.
Good luck

You can probably put them in, but they won't help your PC's performance since they will run at PC2100 speeds. So technically you just wasted your money.

probably not, and even if you did, it wouldn't do shmuck.
it is only for gaming, overclock and running your computer so hard that it will break within the next 4 months
but you will never know because you upgrade it.
but i don't think u are that type of person.
just stick with your old RAM
maybe upgrade to 1gb of RAM
or even 2
