I'm going to be 42 years old, and my work experience so far has been as an enlisted woman in the US Navy, as an administrative assistant, and as an English and Spanish teacher in Japan.

I have a bachelor's degree in economics, which I earned 12 years ago.

Some of my friends and family have said that I would make a good lawyer -- because they say I debate and argue well, and that I care about people and have a keen sense for justice and fair play.

So ... is this a possibility for me?

Arguing and debating is a minuscule part of law. Most law is filing the same forms over and over again and finding pertinent case law. Trials are not about arguing but going in front of a rude judge and pleading your client's case. What area you end up practicing in depends on what job you get after you get out of law school and it is so competitive that you take whatever you get.

It is possible for you to become a lawyer. Many people go to law school at your age and older.

I went to law school with no legal exposure and hated it. I suggest you work in a legal office or court environment first to see if you like the field.

Do what your ideas tells you. do not become a legal expert through fact human beings assume you to, and in case you do not prefer to artwork all those hours then do not. you have gotten a plenty happier existence working at a job you adore with not plenty pay, extremely then a job you hate once you get lots of money. Your in basic terms 15, so which you have some years to think of earlier you circulate to college.

Personally I think you are too old and set in your ways, unflexiable and really just not qualified to be a lwayer because of your lack of compassion for anyone.

You do argue and aggervate people though, maybe there is something witht that you could do.....
