Growing up, I was a big fan of Philosophy, strategy, reading, and the internet. Anyway, as a result of either this or genetics, I've managed to be intelligent.
But I'm not using it well! My grades are not nearly as good as they should be, and I spend too much time on the internet browsing for more information to fill my mind with.
Please give me motivation to finally start using my intelligence for something that will have a positive effect on the real world or the way that others perceive me!

@JBarley: I agree with you there. I have yet to find my one true "passion." I'm still a "buffet intellectual," i.e. I just like to learn EVERYTHING, but I haven't focused enough on a specific area.
I'll think about this soon to help myself find out what my true passion in life is.

From my experience, I would say find one particular thing you feel passionate about and excel in that. You can be the smartest person in the world, but if you change your interests on a weekly basis, you probably won't get very far.
Also, keep in mind, everybody is intelligent in their own way.

Of course it's difficult to be motivated if you don't have a direction. You could think of a job, college, or career you'd like to have. If you know where you want to go in life, it's easier to work to get there.
But if you're still undecided, there are other motivators. You might want prestige amongst your friends, confirmation of your skills, or you might actually be interested in new information at school, if and when you hear any.
If nothing else, you may consider that there may not be universal meaning to life. Perhaps life was an accident, or God, if you believe it, created people. But even if there is no meaning to all life, what is the meaning to yours? How can your life matter if it doesn't matter to you? And what is your life but what you do? You have to make it mean something to yourself. Live!

Get a grip! You need to be on the internet less and studying your subjects more.
Most people look at your grades and GPA. not that you know a lot of stuff.
If you want to make a difference, why dont you volunteer at a church, nursing home, kids club, library,or homeless shelter.
do you have a job, if not get one and that will take up more of your time.
Join clubs at your school and help raise money for something, go rebulid a house for a katrina victim
you seem to have an over inflated ego. because we never stop learning and if you were as smart as you think you are , youd already motivation, you wouldnt need to ask for ideas.

There is only one thing for you my friend. its time to make a choice. You are learning and acting aimlessly and so your grades are suffering mainly because you are not interested in what you are studying. (Duh right!) Make a choice. Pick a field. Are you going to be the riches man around or are you going to discover the next big designer theme, vaccine for some terrible illness, or cure some terrible disease. help the world or help your self. Set a goal and reach for it. Maybe i while see you on MTV cribs, or perhaps on the cover of science weekly excepting the Nobel piece prize who knows. I wish you the best. Now put that tiny 10 percent to work and find your path!

If you like reading, try finding books to motivate you, either on a topic you're interested in or a book on motivation.
Or
You could take one of your hobbies, or find a new one, and become an expert in something- find something that you're passionate for.
And/Or
Find a game (this is kind of like the hobbies one) like chess or scrabble or some other stratedgy or game that requires some wit and play it...a lot

Great minds have purpose while others have only wishes. As long as you believe your purpose is outside yourself - that it is in the past or in the future - you seek fulfillment where it cannot be found. Look for the answer within yourself.

all of this studying and smartness
will sooo pay off later
i know that sounds all cheesy and "teacher-like"
but it's true
i mean,if you get really good gardes then you might get like a scholarship
and then you'll go to college
and get a good job that pays well
and you'll be loaded! [:
