I couldn't agree more. Right now I thinks it's to cold outside so I am letting both of my cars run out in the driveway to get more polutents in the air,and speed up this whole global warming thing. I also clubbed a few baby seals this afternoon, and then just left their dead bodies on the ice. Tomorrow I am going to buy an S.U.V. that uses owls for fuel.

I agree! It is because we are living in a different world than that of 50 years ago. Since then we as a society have become amoral. Not one thing is sacred. We have a 50% or better divorce rate. I would estimate that more couples are shacking up than are married. Watch a move made before 1960. Do you see any difference than the cess pool scripts that are here today. Narcotics usage is at an all time high. People who need rehabilitation are trying to rehab others. We are told to respect others although they don,t respect us. We have to support the minority who don't work. We have to support those who don,t follow the law. We are fast becoming a nation of people who, it seems, want to be told what to do and how to do it. Oh yes, Crime is at an all time high.
Just touched the tip of the iceberg. You can,t call me a liar, because all of the above are true. Can anyone tell me this is progress? If you can, tell me about the flying elephant you saw on your last trip.

I know you'll get a lot of criticism for your comment but I understand where you're coming from. I have no children and don't intend to and that though has crossed my mind as well.
But then compassion finds me and rules my behavior. I recycle everything that is collected around here. I conserve water. I drive a reasonably fuel efficient vehicle (and try to reduce mileage). I never litter. I try to find ways to benefit nature. I usually don't use disposable items. I do this not only for future human beings but also for future creatures--whom are not responsible for the mess this planet is becoming. Isn't it ironic that we humans are supposedly the most intelligent yet I cannot think of another creature which destroys it's own habitat on purpose.

I understand where your coming from.....not much we can do about it, other than keep our own little corner of the world clean. We're limited by what we can do and if I were a younger man with a lot less personal issues, then maybe I'd be joining some lobby group but....in answer to your question...no, it isn't such a bad thing (at your age) to feel this way despite what the tree-hugging radicals might tell you. If more people excepted their limitations then maybe western culture wouldn't be as screwed up as it is.

I don't think that's bad. There's not much you can do about it, so why stress over it and try to fix it? Of course try to not contribute. It's like not caring about when the world is gonna end. It's going to happen no matter what you do so why spend time dwelling on it?

yeah, don't give up the "good fight".
we've made progress. if we give up now, the rich and powerful win. we've cleaned up waterways, elected a different congress, have websites on just about everything, and can still voice our dissent to our gov't.
"evil reigns when good men do nothing"
(Iprobably misquoted that, but that's the jist of it)

Oh you could still be here when it goes down the toilet. Just because it didn't happen today doesn't mean it can't happen tomorrow. I wonder if it will be your problem if tomorrow earth has a PMS day and it's aiming right at you?
