NASCAR has many different division that race. The three main ones are the Craftsman Truck Series, Bush Series, and of course the Nextel Cup Series (which is probably the one everyone is most familiar with). The number of laps largly depends on the size of the track. NASCAR competes on road courses, short tracks, speedways, and super speeddways. Another factor would depend on the series racing, each series typically races a different number of miles. The Nextel Cup usually races from 400-600 miles, the most of any series. The number of laps can range from -100 to 500+.

It all depends on the track. There is not one preset number of laps for all races. The Daytona 500 is 200 laps or 500 miles because the track is fast. Could you imagine 200 laps at Infineon raceway? It would take them forever to run the race!

depends on the race. the daytona 500 is 200 laps because it's a 2.5 mile track, so 200 laps =500 miles. on a half mile track like bristol or martinsville, they go 500 laps, so the race is acually only 250 miles. those are just a couple of examples.

The number of laps depends on the length of the race. If the track is a mile long and it is the "Race" 500 there are 500 laps. If the track is two miles long and it is the "Race" 500, there are 250 laps. It is based on mileage.

it all depends on what track they r at and how many miles they are racing. If it is a 200 mile race and the track is a mile long, they r gonna go 200 laps.

Races are scheduled by distance (i.e. number of miles) not by number of laps. Nascar then calculates the number of laps required to attain that distance. So the answer is variable.
