Watch for sales in your area. Walmart, K-mart, Target, Toys R Us... try these stores for inexpensive, yet safe infant car seat. (I would suggest Babies R Us, too, but they are generally a bit higher priced.)

A car seat (whether for infants or for older children) is NOT something you should buy used or second hand... especially, as someone else said, from strangers. You have no idea of the history of the car seat... even one minor accident can ruin the integrity of the car seat and leave your child in serious danger. Another reason for buying new is that you can then register the product with the company. That way you will be told of any recalls come up or repairs that are necessary. If you buy second hand, you won't have that luxury.

Keep the child safe... buy a new car seat.

You shouldn't buy a used car seat. Especially from a stranger. Once they've been in an accident they're not safe any more and there is no way to know the history of a used car seat.

New car seats really aren't that expensive, and they all need to be up to certain standards, so the cheap ones are safe.

Either go to Target or you could see if you can find a new car seat at a discount on eBay or something.

You should not buy a used car seat. If the seat has ever been in an accident, it is no longer safe for you child. And if is more than a couple of years old, it's not safe either. Please don't buy a used seat. The seller might tell you it has never been in an accident, but how do you really know? This is one expense you should not spare. Protect you child. It's worth the money. Good Luck!

I wouldnt buy a used car seat. You dont know where it has been. It could have already been in a wreck or it might not be up-to-date on safety features. Try finding a good sale at Wal-Mart or some place like that. I think there is one that is for like 45 or 50 bucks, but spend alittle more on this important item if you have to, your baby is worth it.

Walmart sells some car seats for under $50.00. Its really not a good idea to use a used car seat. Personally, I got a convertible car seat from Walmart that my insurance paid for, but I really don't like it too much. I have to hold on to it, because I don't know if we will be able to buy a better one. This one only costs about $40.00.

I have both, yet i'm not utilizing the convertible one yet. My daughter is 5 months previous and that i'm nonetheless utilizing the toddler seat. i imagine you'd be high-quality with purely the convertible one. the purely reason that i'm utilizing the toddler seat is that once i flow to the save etc. I purely grab the seat and placed it on the cart. in case you take advantage of the convertible seat you should take the toddler out and carry her. So i found the toddler seat a lot extra accessible.
