I'd have to say you're in for a brake job. Sounds to me like the front pads are shot and probably took out the rotors as well.

Good Luck

If there is any clicking when you make a hard left turn, it's the CV joint. By the way I don't believe there are any diagnostics that can test for a wheel bearing.... that is mechanical, diagnostics test computer controlled systems. Since the dealer may have BS'd you about the diagnostic, and bearings are a more expensive repair than a brake job, I'd have to agree the brakes are the most likely culprit.

warped rotors, low pads, overheated brake pads, may need to have rotors turned and new brake pads put on. Or wheel bearings to tight and popped the rollers in the bearing, or to loose and the bearings aren't staying firm on the spindle.

thats not a wheel bearing.check the caliper and see if its releasing when you release the brake.sounds like the brake is dragging.a wheel bearing will make a noise even if you dont hit the brakes.

I asked my husband about this and he said check the brakes.

He also said that the mechanic that looked at your car was trying to pull a fast one on you.
