Do metals such as Cu, Mg, Sn, Zn, Fe, Steel react with water? What is the reason behind your answer?

mg and zn do. All grp 1 and 2 elements also react with water.

Water, the universal solvent, reacts almost with any metal. From your list, the most resistant is Zinc (Zn). Water can oxidize metals with the O in H2O. As water's polarity makes it reactive with other polar substances (those that can carry a charge, and metals can carry a charge, or positive valence). Rate of reactions although differ with each metal.

Yes.Copper oxidises in water to a black copper (I)Oxide and hydrogen,Magnesium forms magnesium hydroxide and hydrogen,Tin does react with water,but VERY slowly,Zinc reacts to form zinc oxide with hydrogen,and iron and steel rust to form iron(III)oxide.In order they will react as follows;Mg,Zn,Fe,Steel,Sn,Cu.The reactivity rates increase as the temperature of the water increases

I know battery plates do. there are two types of plates in each cell lead peroxide and sponger lead. Which is the neg and pos plates. The water makes a chemical reaction between the plates. Which cause a electricity flow from the battery as soon as there is a circuit between the pos and neg terminals.

Really I think the only way metals can react with water is oxidation or rusting.

only sodium, potassium and calcium react with water. Refer to the periodic table, from magnesium to iron, they only react with steam. Lead to gold do not react with water

properly i think that it extremely is an acid base reaction the H is combining with the Cl forming the aqueous HCl. There are some exception to this alongside with acid based reactions... yet i cant remember the different exceptions
