And how do you DEFINE 'OLD'?
Is it the fact that they have been there, done that, seen others make poor choices, and know what the consequences of those choices are and are trying to WARN you about them?
Is it the fact that they have a strong moral code and are embarassed by the conduct someone younger than they are is displaying out to the general public -- which conduct is being held up to ridicule -- and they hope to politely point this out to make sure you are NOT going to be hurt by being laughed at behind your back?
Is it because they have PAID THEIR DUES, raised their children, and now are choosing a quiet kind of life -- one which they DESERVE at this point in time?
Is it because they said "NO!" to a demand or plea for money from an ungrateful younger person in their life -- and the young one is someone who is UNWILLING to save or sacrifice so that they can purchase something they need at this time -- or even desire in the future?
Gosh -- I could go on and on -- but the points here are just a beginning.

Old people are able to reflect on their youth and life and see where their life is now from the choices they made in their youth. You may not realize, but decisions you make now in your youth can end up changing the whole path of your life. So listen and learn. and RESPECT your elders. I bet if you talk to a few OLD people you would be surprised at what they know. I work in a nursing home and we have many GREAT people there and they have given me some great advice, more honest than your buddy might be.

Who is the best person to judge a restaurant? The person who has been going there regularly for the last 40 years, met nearly every waiter, waitress, and cook who has ever worked there, and had a chance to try nearly everything on the menu more than a few times...or the new person who just sat down at the table and is waiting to look at a menu?

Absolutely not. Older people have had many more times the life experience of younger people and the wisdom to go along with it. Life is all about CHOICES and older people have simply made more of them, both good and bad. They've learned from the bad ones !!

I'm sure you're younger than 21 and you're asking this question because you don't know the answer..
You will feel better when you hit 21. That's the age when you KNOW older and younger people DON'T know anything at all.

Most of them believe their experiences apply to all situations.
Including yours.
Which is not true, by the way.

Lol...no my dear, they are wise and have been there and done that and you could learn something from them. I suggest you listen carefully or you will be making your own mistakes.
