Italians have a different view of everyday driving. To them it is like playing a sport. Italian pedestrians understand this. It is somewhat like a fan walking out on the field during a rugby match. They're just bound to get hurt unless they are very careful and move very fast.

i'm italian

italian drive code is very strict

the problem is the traffic, italy is the country with the highest number of cars, moped per inhabitant in the world, after Monaco Princedome

after that, the streets of our cities, are very ancient, some of them were built thousands years ago, so they are too narrow for modern times, and we can't enlarge them, because we risk to destroy palaces that have got centuries of history.

and here there aren't higher number of victims in road accidents then in other european countries
