I don't think of it as selling your body. Yes, you use your body to sell a product, but lots of people do that sort of thing. A good salesperson will use the inflection in her voice, the way he stands, the clothes they wear, to convey a message and to sell their product. They're using their bodies as well. Plus, fashion and fashion photography is an art form. Well, Vogue more than Sears catalogue on this one. Models can be muses and part of the world of art with their profession.

I heard that clothing models are suppose to get the consumer to notice the clothes, not them. Though, now adays I think the media and retailers have gone too far where all you see is their body. And to think years ago--ladies underwear was in boxes behind the counter!! Time has definately changed!
So, I don't think modeling is bad until it is just too provacative or extreme. Some people model socks and thats all you ever see in the magazine--their feet!! hee hee

I have always had this weird feeling everytime I see models. I always visualize them strutting down a runway in front of people who can barely afford shoes, let alone a shirt. That seems to put things in perspective for me. It does seem sinful that we have gotten so haughty that rather than just being thankful for the basic clothes we need, we strut down a runway trying to sell the idea that it's a good thing to look better than someone else. "Pride goes before a fall" says the Good Book.

i dont think its selling ur body but if u watch Americas Next Top Model they talk alot about having to have lots of expression in the face because thats wat mainly sells the product and thats what the judges look for.

i know many girls who want to model. but its for all the wrong reasons (such as to gain self-esteem.)
you have to be really tough and be able to accept rejection. it is hard work, and not to be taken lightly. i would know.

i think its a way to earn a great living, if you have what it takes. however, i also think that if you don't have what it takes it can be a very disappointing career move. its just not for certain people.
