It's a hypothetical question. You cannot have both , meaning , you cannot say " I'd rather have both good looks and intelligence at the same time."
I'll make it clear from the start , I'm not trying to make fun of people who consider themselves "ugly" or not intelligent.
It's meant to be a mind-teaser to see how you reason out things . So please give me good reasons for your answers.

Well if you're intelligent then you can get a really good job that pays well and then you could get plastic surgery to look good. There you go, a win-win situation.

Very intelligent but ugly. That way you'd be smart enough to fix it. You can always work a low profile job until you do. Ever read "Bonfire of the Vanities"?

If you were beautiful but dumb, you could always lose you're looks, but intelligence knows how to get it all.

But who says it comes down to either or. I think some of the nicest looking people also are intelligent. That is how they got that way, and sometimes by being nice, too.

If a person is intelligent but not handsome, they might have an inner beauty that can outshine them all.

Very intelligent , but ugly...Having the knowledge can take you places.....Leadership is the key, people love to learn and will listen and follow you if you know what you are talking about....Climbing that corporate ladder is mainly done by what you know. So all this can put mega-bucks in your pocket...get you the things you want and need.....I will be ugly any day if I can have the intelligence of Einstein

According to the Vedic understanding of "Us." We are not these minds, bodies, intelligence, or false ego, we are spirit souls. So both are on the material platform and have nothing to do with who we are. Mind is higher than body and intelligence is higher than the mind. So I would say intelligence is better. But real intelligence is to understand that we are spirit and have an eternal relationship with the Absolute supreme soul. Then that is real intelligence.

It is more socially acceptable to be dumb and beautiful, so you'll be way more popular and socially accepted. If you're intelligent and ugly, then you're completely misunderstood, and you're smarter than the fools that are ostracizing you.

Sometimes it's torturous to be smart, and sometimes it's better to be blissfully ignorant.

I think I'd rather be dumb and beautiful. I'd have more money and more friends!

i think it might be an easier life to be handsome and not too bright. i mean, handsome folk get away with more stuff. they really do. and ignorance is bliss. it's easier to live a life with less worries.

but i'm not sure ''easier = better.'' i don't think life is supposed to be something that's easy. intelligent folk don't have a whole bunch of stuff they need to get away with, either. nah, i'll stick with ugly but intelligent. someone's gotta do it! ;-)
