Yes I remember the movie. They saved their money to sneak to an audition, but something happened and they had to rent an apartment and they made their own costumes and had to change their dance style a little to compete with New York dancers.

I loved this movie and would watch it all the time because they use to replay it on HBO or Encore something like that. I remember they all lived together and was broke. And I do remember the girls fighting off some creeps at a bar. Oh yeah, the end is the best when they perform and the guy is breakdancing on his head. I love the 80's. Why don't they make good, corny movies like that anymore? It's hillarious!
