Are there a few more racists there, or no more than usual? I ask because I read an article once about a racist group that was based in Arizona.

I'm not trying to stereotype. I realize it's only a few people making the whole look bad.

YES! I live here in Arizona and it's great. The heat is extreme at times, but we all have air conditioned cars and workplaces and homes, and are trained to carry water wherever we go. Sunsets are BEAUTIFUL, lots to do, lakes, mountains, desert hiking, cactus, caves, social events, sports. You don't get bothered by scorpions like someone above mentioned unless you live out in the boonies and have lots of wood or rocks piled around. It's November 11 and while some of the country is freezing and storming, we enjoyed a nice clear sky and 80 degree weather!!

It depends on where in Arizona. For example: the heat in the deserts is horrendous.

However, did you know that much of Arizona is mountainous and that the Colorado Plateau ranges between 5,000 and 8,000 feet in elevation and that it takes in a huge chunk of Arizona? When the temp is 120 in Phoenix, it can easily be in the 70s or 80s in the high elevations. I have a vacation home up in the high country. It is delightful there.

It depends where in Arizona you are talking about. I have now lived here for a little over 5 years and am fairly happy with it. I was born and raised in Michigan and I never want to drive in ice/snow again nor do I want to feel that awful cold chilling me to the bone. So I will definitely put up with the hot summers to not freeze my butt off in the winter. However the cost of housing has sky rocketed and the commutes can be horrible. I moved to far East Mesa to get as far away from the "city" as I could for my boys and love it but, now I have to spend about 40 minutes on the freeway to and from work everyday.

do you choose for cooler climate, is that why you're questioning of Flagstaff? Flagstaff is a school city and has a lot of hippies (particularly). the college device there is undesirable. My in-rules the two artwork for the college district and this is totally adverse. there are various community American scholars interested in gang activity there, and the city is rated interior the backside ten for medium sized cities interior the finished u . s . a .! So, i do no longer propose it. once you're searching for cooler climate in AZ, think of Payson. Queen Creek faculties are stable (responding to the placed up above), yet a million/2 of Queen Creek is in Florence USD... no longer so stable. Arizona is somewhat different and you mustn't have undertaking. i could propose the Gilbert college District, enormously Highland severe college section. They do alright and have low crime and severe attempt rankings. there are various new enterprise in Gilbert, so i do no longer think of you may have undertaking looking a activity. Plus, this is placed close to the 60, so which you would be able to desire to take the expressway to artwork in case you got here across some thing interior of sight (Mesa, Apache Junction, Tempe).

really depends on where you are coming from, I moved to Arizona from Oklahoma and the heat is very dry in Phoenix Arizona area and there are no trees' very desert. But it is a booming place and it is a buyers market with houses, not sure about the job market, I no longer live there, but I have a sister and brother that do, she is in child care and he is a home repair guy. Good luck in your search for a new place to venture to..

Arizona is one of the most beautiful states that I have ever seen. I am not sure if I would live there , I am a little frightened of bugs, the spiders and scorpions are big, Id be afraid to sleep. I am not much for the hot weather either, but it is so beautiful there!

Someone dropped a big rock off a bridge while I was drinving under it. If I had been going a hair faster, it would have come through the windshield and killed one of my passengers, instead of just breaking the bottom of the windshield. That doessn't answer your questiojn, I just tell that story every chance I get ;-). I guess its alright.

I don't know. It depends on the people there too, not just the place you live in. Racism is every where.
