Here's what you need to know: Female guppies are pregnant for 4-6 weeks. They generally have 40-60 fry. if you look very closely you'll see that when they are born they come out folded in half. Isolate the female at aprox. 3 1/2 -4 weeks. She'll be less stressed by the males prior to giving birth. Separate her from the fry after they are born preferably in another tank to give her a chance to recover. You need only keep the fry in the floating nursery until they are big enough to not be eaten by the adults. Here's an interesting fact for you. Female guppies store sperm so if all the males die the females can produce 2-3 more lots of fry long after thy're are gone.

Hope this helps you......

look up the net for video info.

When the guppy starts to look like she is dying, i.e. just hanging about in a corner and hardly moving she is probably getting ready to drop her babies.

Its a good idea to move the guppy out into a breeding tank/compartment a few days ahead of the birthing to get her used to it. preferably give her some weeds to hide in and also to save her from eating her own babies and keep the light down as low as possible.

Good idea to buy a proper breeding box so the babies can escape to the bottom of the box below the grid but they are pretty stupid and will still come upand swim around her. And they need to get to the top to take their first gasp of air to fill their air sacs anyway.

I have seen guppies give birth at one end, the baby swim around to the front of her and she has promptly eaten it. You win some you lose some, fortunately they have so many babies at a time that it doesn't usually matter.

go to google and hit images and that will have all your pictures you want. i would put her in the net as soon as you can because she is better off in the net as long as you feed her in there.

You should be able to tell just by looking at her...she'll get quite large and swollen looking...like she's gonna burst or something..
