emo is short for the word emotional. usually the term "emo" refers to teenagers who are usually depressed or angry. they are known for cutting themselves or other self destructive behavior to deal with there angst. there is a whole emo culture, with music, fashion, and fads.

emo's can dish out mean things, but can't deal with people being mean back to them.

I think in general people associate emo with people who listen to punk music..like simple plan..who cry about broken hearts and parent troubles lol..also the people who dress hmm more diverse if you will...like wearing more black, the shaggy hair, etnies and shoes of that sort..
