If the builder built the home in 2006 but I close it in early 2007, is the year of built going to be 2006 or 2007? Also, how does it affect the home value when I sell a few years from now?

If it went up for sale in 2006 then it was built in 2006. Condition, style, and location are more important than the age of your home. Homes don't depreciate over time like cars do, quite the opposite in fact.

ok the house was built in 2006 but didnt close till 2007, it was still built in 2006,and the value well ,depends on the local market etc,i would say maybe a rise of about 3 to 5% in one year not alot but it adds up in the long term ,closeing is just a final contract between byer and seller

It will still be built in 2006. The only way it will make a difference when you sell in a few years is if it is a manufactured home. If it is stickbuilt (regular house) it won't matter at all.

2006 and no. You'll need to see at least a gap of at least 5 years to see a noticable difference in price for the same property.

I wouldn't worry much about it. According to our home inspector when we bought our current home, you can look on your water heater for the year it was installed... that's when your home it complete, according to him. Bottom line: I'm sure your home will increase in value as the years go by... but don't worry about it. Enjoy your home.
